Little Hamster Crochet started the way most good things do; a little by accident.

It all started when I wanted to make my own book sleeves for my growing #booktok romance collection. I got completely hooked instantly, and I haven't stopped crocheting since! One summer I became mildly obsessed wih making hair bandanas, and somewhere around number 19, I realized I needed to start selling them rather than collecting them. As I like to say; I was running out of thing to make for myself and the people close to me, but not crocheting wasn't an option. That's why I started selling instead!

What really changed things was making pride bandanas. As a queer woman, being able to offer the community a small handmade way to express themselves and wear their pride means a lot to me. It's one of my favorite parts of what I do, and it's grown into something I'm genuinely proud of.

The slow fashion side of things isn't accidental either. I have a background in environmental sciences and care deeply about what we make, what we buy, and what ends up in landfill. Every piece I make is handmade to order or made in small batches. No mass production, no waste, no garments that fit nobody and go nowhere. Just things made carefully, from quality materials, for people who actually want them.
